Visitor Information Centers

The Visitor Information Center Program manages the Department’s nine Visitor Information Centers in Anthony, Chama, Gallup, Glenrio, La Bajada, Lordsburg, Raton, Santa Fe and Texico.

These facilities assist visitors once they arrive in New Mexico, as well as those at local, regional, statewide, national and international events. Tourist Counselors distribute approved tourism information, including maps, community literature, hotel, motel, and restaurant brochures, and information on statewide attractions.  The centers also collect data on visitors to determine visitor profiles and advertising effectiveness.

The Program also manages the Mobile Visitor Information Center, which represents the state and the Department at attractions and events. Its primary purpose is to reach out-of-state residents and New Mexicans.
