Targeted Economic Impact Study Research Available to Cities, Chambers, CVBs
Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics Company, is conducting a statewide and county-level economic impact study for the New Mexico Tourism Department. Tourism Economics is also available to conduct destination specific analysis of tourism’s economic impact on a customized basis, enabling destinations, such as cities (not defined as a single county), chambers or CVBs to receive a tailored report on the spending, jobs, wages, and taxes generated by visitors in their area.
The analysis will include detailed results for 2011 as well as a trend of the top line figures back to 2009. The report will be delivered in MS PowerPoint format with graphs and tables to depict the results. The cost of the research per city/chamber/CVB is $5,000.

NEW: On the cusp of summer, optimism among travel industry analysts and executives seems to be outweighing pessimism, at least moderately. Economic indicators remain fickle (up one month and down the next) but are very gradually headed into more positive territory. These developments, as well as some better performance data from the industry itself and more positive consumer travel attitudes and intentions, suggest a more optimistic outlook for this summer than we have seen in some time. - Dr. Suzanne Cook, U.S. Travel Outlook (website)
